{"id":10102,"date":"2020-04-21T08:29:35","date_gmt":"2020-04-21T08:29:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=10102"},"modified":"2020-04-21T08:29:40","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T08:29:40","slug":"abba-kyaris-burial-fg-apologises-for-violation-of-social-distance-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=10102","title":{"rendered":"Abba Kyari\u2019s Burial: FG Apologises For Violation Of Social Distance Order"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/politicsnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/FG-Task-Force-COVID19-1.jpg\" alt=\"Abba Kyari\u2019s Burial: FG Apologises For Violation Of Social Distance Order\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Federal government has apologised to Nigerians for the violation of the social distancing order at late Abba Kyari\u2019s burial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, tendered the apology during the daily media briefing of the taskforce in Abuja on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said \u201dOn the 17th of April 2020 we lost the Chief of Staff to the President to the coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe was fully committed to ensuring Nigeria responded effectively to the challenge of COVID-19 and he died in the line of duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will always remember his robust efforts, his dedication, and unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria\u2019s capacity to manage the impact of this pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dWe have resolved to remain focused on the response to the pandemic in honour of Mr Kyari and all those who have lost their lives to COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dThe PTD recognises regrettably the unintentional violation of the principles and protocols that form the core of our messages to Nigerians at the funeral of the late Chief of Staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dThese principles for emphasis include the guidance provided on mass gatherings, social distancing, personal hygiene and restriction of movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dLessons have been learnt and appropriate measures have been taken to close all gaps.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We would recall the Presidency had come\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailypost.ng\/2020\/04\/18\/presidency-under-attack-over-lack-of-social-distancing-at-abba-kyaris-burial\/\">under attack over non-compliance to social distancing<\/a>\u00a0order at the burial of Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari after videos and photos from the burial surfaced online showing a large crowd.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal government has apologised to Nigerians for the violation of the social distancing order at late Abba Kyari\u2019s burial.
