The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Thursday confirmed 108 fresh cases of coronavirus in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday night\u2019 figure has pushed up the total number of people infected by coronavirus<\/a> in Nigeria to 981.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The centre said on its Twitter handle that 78 new cases were confirmed in Lagos, 14 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), five in Ogun, four in Gombe, three in Borno and two in Akwa Ibom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kwara and Plateau States recorded one case each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, 197 persons have been discharged from hospitals and 31 others killed by the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic, has 582 cases while FCT has 133.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NCDC said: \u201cAs at 11:30 p.m. 23rd April there are 981 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
