The state&#8217;s director of public health, Dr Ibrahim Adamu, confirmed that the result of one of the people in isolation has been returned positive. It is appropriate to note that despite Nasarawa state\u2019s proximity to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which has recorded over 157 COVID-19 cases of the pandemic, the state until this development was yet to record any case. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, late on Monday, April 27, announced 64 new cases of COVID-19 in the country to take the total number to 1337. According to the NCDC&#8217;s announcement on Monday night, 33 states (including the FCT) have the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria. The development in Nasarawa state has, however, increased the number to 34.  Meanwhile,it had been previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the total lockdown of Kano state for two weeks in a bid to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the state. The president made the directive on the evening of Monday, April 27, during a national broadcast on COVID-19 pandemic. It was reported that as of Sunday, April 26, the northern state has confirmed 77 cases of COVID-19.
