The Delta State Government has lifted the lockdown order in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also directed that social distancing should be maintained to further checkmate the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who said this in a state-wide broadcast, on Tuesday, directed the compulsory use of face masks in public places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, \u201cIt has become necessary to partially lift the ban on movements within the state effective  from Thursday, April 30, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is to enable our people to engage in economic\/business activities between the hours of 6am and 7pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSecurity agencies will be on hand to ensure strict compliance with the time- frame.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the governor, the state borders would be open to only agricultural, petroleum, food and other essential services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said religious worship centres would remain closed and that a new directive about their mode of operations would be issued in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okowa further announced that tricycle riders would only be allowed to carry two passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that public buses would henceforth convey two passengers per seat to maintain proper social distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The governor said face masks, and hand gloves must be worn at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okowa also said, \u201cWhile burials and weddings will be allowed, the social distancing rule (6ft apart) must be applied, and the number of guests\/persons must not exceed 50.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
