The Lagos State Government on Tuesday announced the death from COVID-19<\/a> of one of the Nigerians evacuated from the United Arab Emirates by the Federal Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nigerian male, whose age was given as 32, according to the state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, had severe underlying illnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Abayomi, the deceased, was evacuated back to the country on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dUnfortunately, another #COVID19 infection related death involving 32year old, male has been recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe deceased recently returned from Dubai with severe underlying health condition following evacuation of Nigerians in foreign countries by presidential task force on #COVID19\u201d, Abayomi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Announcing on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Prof Akin Abayomi said the unfortunate incident brings to 34 the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: “The deceased recently returned from Dubai with severe underlying health conditions following evacuation of Nigerians in foreign countries by @DigiCommsNG. Total COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos is now 34.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I urge Lagosians to remain committed to rules guiding COVID-19 infection prevention regardless of relaxation of lockdown,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
