Frankline Ndifor, 39, popular Cameroonian pastor and presidential candidate, died weeks after he lay his hands and prayed for dozens of his followers who had covid-19 according to a report by Voice of America News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Gaelle Nnang who treated the late preacher said he had acute respiratory difficulty a week after failing ill and died ten minute after receiving treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

<\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His death has sparked fears among his followers as Ndifor who claimed to cure covid-19 died of the same disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In previous weeks sufferers had flocked to the Kingship International Ministries Church<\/a>, founded by Ndifor, where he lay his hands on them and prayed for their healing, reported<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameroon police used force to gain access to his residence in the economic capital city Douala, as some of his supporters blocked entrances, praying for his resurrection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

His followers sang and prayed for his resurrection throughout the weekend. Health workers accompanied by the police evacuated his corpse. He was buried in front of the house on the day of his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follower Rigobert Che said \u2018the prophet\u2019 prayed for him and several dozen others who had been diagnosed with or were suspected of having coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u2018This is a pastor that has been laying hands [on the sick] and claiming that he cures COVID-19,\u2019 Che said. \u2018If you, the person that claims that you are curing COVID-19, you are dead, what about the fellow people that were affected by the COVID-19?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u2018Now that he is dead, I do not know how the people that he was laying hands on will be healed.\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ndifor was also donating buckets and soap to people in need and his last public outing was on April 20, when he went out to distribute facemasks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Another supporter, Akere Muna, tweeted: \u2018Pastor Franklin Ndifor Afanwi \u2013 Gone too soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018A man of great spirituality. This guided his entry into the political arena. If he left this world due to COVID19, then it must be to remind us of the reality of this pandemic. May his gentle soul rest in peace.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ndifor came 7th out of nine candidates in 2018\u2019s presidential election, with 23,687 votes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There have been 3,529 confirmed cases of coronavirus<\/a>, and 140 deaths so far in the Camaroon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Popular Nigerian televangelist and founder of Salvation Ministries<\/a>, with headquarters in Port Harcourt, south of Nigeria, Pastor David Ibiyeomi<\/a>, has claimed that coronavirus is not in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople are making noise about coronavirus. To me, it is rubbish.\u201d The preacher said in a live TV broadcast on his church channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNigeria does not even have it. I don\u2019t think Nigeria has it.\u201d He said in the video that has now gone viral in the Nigerian cyberspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The preacher said Nigerian politicians lied about the pandemic\u2019s presence in the country so they could loot the funds donated for combat the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His comments started a debate among Nigerians on the social media. Many condemned his utterances, while some of his supporters defended his points stressing that he made a valid point in the regarding \u201clooting\u2019 of Covid-19 funds by corrupt politicians in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control<\/a> (NCDC) says the country currently has a total of 6401 cases of the virus, with 192 deaths and 1734 recoveries. The country\u2019s Commercial cities of Lagos <\/a>and Kano <\/a>are the most hit by the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some states in Nigeria are still on a total Lockdown, while some have had their lockdown orders relaxed by the federal government mostly due to economic hardship occasioned by the restrictions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
