{"id":15887,"date":"2020-05-27T09:20:08","date_gmt":"2020-05-27T09:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=15887"},"modified":"2020-05-27T09:20:14","modified_gmt":"2020-05-27T09:20:14","slug":"imo-govt-announces-covid-19-test-results-of-commissioners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=15887","title":{"rendered":"Imo govt announces covid-19 test results of commissioners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image1-2020-05-27T065217.444.jpeg\" alt=\"Imo govt announces covid-19 test results of commissioners\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/covid-19-imo-govt-threatens-another-lockdown-after-recording-4-new-virus-infections\/\">Imo State<\/a>&nbsp;Government on Tuesday announced that all the 24 commissioners in the state have tested negative for COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Commissioner for Special Projects, Simon Ebegbulem stated this in Owerri, the state capital, adding that the test results came in on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ebegbulam also explained that Governor Hope Uzodinma had insisted that his commissioners should submit themselves for test before the commencement of the state executive council meeting which he said was completely complied with and that the result after some days came out negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cThe development forced the shifting of the business of the day from the earlier scheduled 11am, to 1.40pm, with all the commissioners submitting themselves to the Coronavirus test which was conducted by a team of the state Covid-19 committee headed by the commissioner for health, she was also tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe test results came in on Sunday, with all the twenty-four commissioners testing negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen the governor gave the order we thought he was joking, but he was serious, and directed the state Commissioner for Health, Damaris Osunkwo, to ensure that all the commissioners subject themselves to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/tag\/COVID-19\">Covid-19<\/a>&nbsp;test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs you can see, the governor\u2019s proactive measures is a thing to be commended and copied by others. Why it not for such measures, we might as well be have been saying something else, as is being witnessed in some other states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a governor that is determined to protect the health and wellbeing of every citizen, no matter whose ox is gored.
