Fight\nAgainst Child Trafficking: Anambra Government Inspects Homes, Uncovers Baby\nFactories.
\nAnambra\nState Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, has\nuncovered two baby factories in Onitsha and Obosi, during an inspection of\norphanage homes, in her efforts to stem the scourge of child trafficking in the\nstate.

\nThe\ninspection which was led by the Honorable Commissioner, in conjunction with the\nPolice, DSS and Civil Defense, including the ministry staff, saw the taskforce\nvisiting community children homes in Ogidi, Nkpor, Obosi and Onitsha, with the\naim of inspecting the general environment, water sources, hygiene and\noperational license of the facilities.

\nA grim\ndiscovery was however made at Obosi, when the team uncovered a room in an\norphanage where two pregnant young girls were locked up and fed in an inhuman\nmanner.
\n
\nLady\nMezue, immediately rescued the girls, whom one among them was severely\nmalnourished, and subsequently arrested the home manager for further\ninvestigation.

\nThe\ninspection continued to Onitsha where some arrests were made and a baby\nsuspected to be set for trafficking was also rescued by the team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
