Voting has been cancelled in Ologi (Ward 03) of Ogbia Local\nGovernment Area (LGA), a senior electoral official has said, following a\nviolent incident that included \u201cseizing\u201d of an electoral official.

\nThe official, Ukuachukwu Orji, who is the INEC supervisory resident\nelectoral commissioner for Ogbia LGA, said members of the Ologi community\nforcibly prevented election in the riverine area.
\n
\n\u201cAs our people (electoral officers) were coming into the community\nafter crossing the river, they seized them and the materials and burnt all the\nmaterials.\u201d
\n
\n\u201cThey chased our people away and seized some but the military rescued\nthem.\u201d
\n
\nMr. Orji, who is originally the REC for Anambra State, spoke in Otuoke\n(Ward 13 of Ogbia LGA) where President Good luck Jonathan and his family voted.
\n
\nHe said election in the community was then cancelled as a consequence\nof the violence.
\n
\nHe expressed satisfaction that election has been smooth in other\ncommunities that form the LGA, except in Ologi.
