{"id":18311,"date":"2020-06-03T10:29:55","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T10:29:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=18311"},"modified":"2020-06-03T10:30:28","modified_gmt":"2020-06-03T10:30:28","slug":"oou-submits-covid-19-herbal-syrup-to-nafdac-for-approval","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=18311","title":{"rendered":"OOU submits COVID-19 herbal syrup to NAFDAC for approval"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/NAFDAC1.jpeg\" alt=\"BUSINESS REVIEW: How prevalence of fake consumer products is killing the Nigerian market\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nigeria may be moving a step ahead in the fight against the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/tag\/COVID-19\">COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>&nbsp;if the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), approves a herbal syrup submitted to it by the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Ganiyu Olatunde, a group of researchers at the university have come up with a COVID\u201319 preventive, treatment and management herb tagged, OOU-Anjo Anti-COVID-19 herbal syrup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Olatunde, who also unveiled three other products \u2013 automated hands sanitiser dispenser, personal hands sanitiser and face masks, produced by the researchers on Tuesday at Ago-Iwoye, said the herbal syrup had been submitted to NAFDAC for approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cOur university is one of the core universities that engage in research into the COVID-19 pandemic and in partnership with Anjo, one of our core effective partners in herbal medicine, we\u2019ve been able to produce an anti-COVID-19 herbal syrup which we\u2019ve processed to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/tag\/NAFDAC\">NAFDAC<\/a>&nbsp;for approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo, I can assure you that it went through all the necessary protocols that you can have in trying to produce a herbal syrup.
