Manchester United and England legend, Michael Owen has joined the league of football greats that are commending the efforts of Odion Ighalo at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ighalo made a brave move to play for the Red Devils when he sealed a short term loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua last January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several comments trailed the move, as many believed the 30-year-old was not the best option for United, but he has since proven otherwise, with four goals in three starts for the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial loan contract ended on May 31st, but United struck another deal with Shenhua to keep the Nigerian star until January 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I like him, I like him a lot,\u2019 former forward Owen said on Premier League Productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I know people turn their nose up at him because he\u2019s come from Chinese football or because he\u2019s on loan, he\u2019s not a sexy \u00a360m player or whatever. But I tell you what, I like him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018He\u2019s maybe not the full-time No.9 for Manchester United permanently but when you\u2019ve got [Anthony] Martial, when you\u2019ve got Ighalo, when you\u2019ve got [Marcus] Rashford, all of a sudden you\u2019ve got a bit of pace, a bit of pace, a bit of guile .\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owen also believes Ighalo could be United\u2019s answer to Divock Origi<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Yeah, but even more of a role I\u2019d say, Ighalo. I think he\u2019s another level up, to be honest,\u201dOwen added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I think he would get more game-time for Manchester United than Origi would at Liverpool in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
