President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the deadly attack on Gubio village in Borno State by a Boko Haram group<\/a>, Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack on the village by the heavily armed jihadists on Tuesday, June 9, reportedly left no less than 8i persons dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs news of one the most brutal terrorist attacks on innocent people emerged from the Northeast, President Muhammadu Buhari said he is deeply shocked by the brutal killing of tens of people by the Boko Haram\/Islam in West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Gubio village, Borno State\u201d, the president\u2019s spokesman, Garba Shehu said in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement further read:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe President, who was expecting a detailed briefing by the Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum on the outcome of his visit to the affected communities, said the \u201cprimordial nature of the killings is particularly shocking because it happened not long after the Ramadhan and Eid, and the country is preparing to celebrate the Democracy Day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn condemning the incident, President Buhari<\/a> charged the armed forces to sustain their recent string of successes against the terrorists to extract a heavy price from the attackers, and bring back all those they kidnapped as well as the large number of cattle rustled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
