\nThe four\nnew emirates for which Governor Abdullahi Ganduje named first-class emirs in\nMay are Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya.

\nJustice\nUsman Na\u2019Abba ruled on Thursday that the law creating the new emirates did not\nfollow due process.
\n
\nAfter the\njudgement, scores of residents of Karaye, one of the affected areas, trooped\nout to protest the judgement.

\nA similar\nprotest is ongoing in Gaya.
\nThere are\nunconfirmed reports that similar protests were holding in other emirates.
\nIn Karaye,\nthe residents carried placards, whose contents were in Hausa, to show their\ngrievances at the judgment.

\n\u201cLeave us\nin our new emirate, the Karaye emirate,\u201d one of the placards reads.
