The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci is facing a Serbia war crimes indictment by a special international prosecutor in the International Court of Justice, in The Hague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thaci and 10 others who are accused of being responsible for \u201cnearly 100 murders\u201d, torture and enforced disappearances are being assessed by a judge at the Kosovo<\/a> Specialist Chambers who will decide if the case goes to trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Special Prosecutor\u2019s Office (SPO) said that, on 24 April, it had filed a 10-count indictment with the KSC \u201cfor the Court\u2019s consideration\u201d. It has not released details about the alleged war crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Indictment is only an accusation. It is the result of a lengthy investigation and reflects the SPO\u2019s determination that it can prove all of the charges beyond a reasonable doubt,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement also said Mr Thaci and another of the accused, Kosovo politician Kadri Veseli have sought to \u201cobstruct and undermine\u201d the SPO\u2019s work \u201cin an attempt to ensure that they do not face justice\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
