{"id":23423,"date":"2020-07-06T14:42:27","date_gmt":"2020-07-06T14:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=23423"},"modified":"2020-07-06T14:42:33","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T14:42:33","slug":"fg-frowns-at-disregard-for-covid-19-guidelines-in-govt-offices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=23423","title":{"rendered":"FG frowns at disregard for COVID-19 guidelines in govt offices"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Civil-Service-of-the-Federation-Dr.-Folasade-Yemi-Esan.jpg\" alt=\"Nigerian government threatens public servants divulging official information without authorisation\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Federal Government has frowned at the disregard for the guidelines issued to civil servants to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in government offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Head of Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, expressed government\u2019s position in a circular marked HCSF\/109\/S.I\/137 and dated July 2, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The circular is titled, \u2018Need for strict compliance with the directives and advice on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/tag\/COVID-19\">COVID-19 pandemic preventive measures<\/a>.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would be recalled that government in the earlier guidelines, had said that only workers on Grade Level 14 and above and those on essential services should be reporting for work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guidelines also recommended that the number of visitors to offices should be limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the new circular,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/acting-hcsf-yemi-esan-holds-first-meeting-with-buhari-after-appointment\/\">Yemi-Esan<\/a>&nbsp;said she noticed that the directives were being observed in breach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The circular read: \u201cIt has therefore become very important to reiterate that: (a) only officers on GL14 and above and officers performing essential services are to report for duty;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c(b) as much as possible, other categories of officers should be encouraged to work from home;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c(c) security operatives at the gates should be directed to demand for the identity card of staff coming to the office to ensure that they are on GL14 and above; while the list of those performing essential services but are below GL14 should be sent to the gates for clearance;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c(d) officers are strongly advised to limit, to the barest minimum, the number of visitors they receive.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has frowned at the disregard for the guidelines issued to civil servants to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in government offices.
