{"id":29579,"date":"2020-09-02T14:00:43","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T14:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=29579"},"modified":"2020-09-02T14:00:54","modified_gmt":"2020-09-02T14:00:54","slug":"rivers-apc-faction-distances-self-from-members-statement-against-gov-wike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=29579","title":{"rendered":"Rivers APC faction distances self from member\u2019s statement against Gov Wike"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Igo-Aguma.jpg\" alt=\"APC crisis extends, as Rivers chapter suspends chairman, declares Boms nomination nullity\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said it had no hand in a statement issued by its member against Governor Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One Ogbonna Nwuke, a member of an opposing faction of the party in the state, was said to have in a statement titled \u2018Halting the Invasion of the Judiciary by Governor Wike,\u2019 claimed that judicial officers in the state were being manipulated by Wike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the caretaker committee chairman of the other APC&nbsp;faction the state, Igo Aguma, in a statement through his aide, Livingstone Wechie on Tuesday, distanced the party from Nwuke\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noting that the statement against Wike did not originate from the party, Aguma said Nwuke had never been APC\u2019s spokesman and was never authorised to speak for the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the statement remained Nwuke\u2019s opinion and those of his paymasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is an age-long tradition in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/rivers-govt-rejects-controversial-npfl-table-heads-to-cas-for-justice\/\">Rivers<\/a>&nbsp;wherein successive administrations from 1999 till date have given logistics support to the judiciary to enhance the delivery and dispensation of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe judicial environment in terms of infrastructure and other human resources have become an object of envy because of the commitment of the various administrations to always support the only hope of the common man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe APC is not anti-judiciary as Ogbonna Nwuke and his known sponsors seek to portray it.
