No fewer than 21 opposition protesters have been feared killed in the West African country of Guinea during post-election violence days after President Alpha Cond\u00e9 emerged the winner of last Sunday\u2019s presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports say clashes between opposition supporters and security forces continued on Monday with the victims thought to have died in the unrest that has followed Guinea\u2019s disputed election<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opposition, which has declared itself the victor, says Mr Conde broke the law when he changed the constitution in March to allow him to run again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Nations and the African Union have sent mediators to Guinea to try to negotiate a solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports<\/a> say gunfire erupted in Conakry, on Friday as provisional election results showed President Cond\u00e9, 82, won a controversial third term with opposition leader Cellou Dalein Diallo alleging large-scale fraud and declared himself winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
