{"id":37155,"date":"2020-10-30T11:43:33","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T11:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=37155"},"modified":"2020-10-30T11:43:41","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T11:43:41","slug":"gunmen-abduct-another-university-don-in-anambra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=37155","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen abduct another University Don in Anambra"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Odumegwu-Ojukwu-University-Anambra-State.jpg\" alt=\"Gunmen abduct another University Don in Anambra\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A lecturer attached to the Odumegwu Ojukwu University Anambra State, Prof. Silvia Okonkwo, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lecturer, Silvia Okonkwo, also a professor is the second staff of the institution to be abducted along the Enugu-Agidi\/Nawgu road on Wednesday evening, the President-General, Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU), Ndubuisi Obijiofor, who confirmed the incident on Thursday said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe kidnap victim goes by the name Prof Silvia Okonkwo of Uruokwe village Enugwu-Ukwu, a lecturer with the Odumegwu Ojukwu\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/icpc-arrests-10-suspects-for-selling-final-year-projects-to-university-students\/\">University Anambra State<\/a>, who left for Awka after having a Senate meeting with her collegues in the school, unfortunately her movement was cut short by the activities of the kidnappers,\u201d said Obijiofor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is the second time a lecturer would be falling victim of the notorious kidnappers on the same spot. The particular spot where the incident took place is highly deplorable, making constant users of the road more vulnerable to their attack. The leadership of the Enugwu-Agidi Community wishes to inform the general public to desist from plying that route as from 6:30pm because of the security threats, while we strategize as a Community to beef up security around the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe also urge the state government to come to our aid by repairing the road to facilitate easy movement of vehicles along the road for security purposes.
