{"id":39485,"date":"2021-01-29T15:04:29","date_gmt":"2021-01-29T15:04:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=39485"},"modified":"2021-01-29T15:04:45","modified_gmt":"2021-01-29T15:04:45","slug":"covid-19-uk-exempts-nigeria-from-travel-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=39485","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19: UK exempts Nigeria from travel ban"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Boris-Johnson-.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The United Kingdom government has exempted Nigeria from a list of 30 countries banned from entering the country over COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The countries, according to a statement on the website of the UK government on Thursday and titled: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/uk-battles-first-two-coronavirus-cases\/\">Coronavirus<\/a>&nbsp;restrictions on travel and transport to England,\u201d include Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Cape Verde, Chile, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, and Eswatini (former Swaziland).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others are French Guiana, Guyana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Portugal (including Madeira and the Azores), Seychelles, South Africa, Suriname, Tanzania, Uruguay, Venezuela Zambia, and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government imposed a fine of \u00a3500 on travellers without a proof of COVID-19 tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement read: \u201cYou must have a valid proof of a negative&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/uk-covid-19-strain-detected-in-60-countries-who\/\">COVID-19<\/a>&nbsp;test to travel to England. You must take the test in the three days before you start your journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou will need to present proof of your negative test before you board to travel to England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you don\u2019t present proof of a negative test result certificate, you may not be able to board your transport to England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou could be fined \u00a3500 when you arrive at the border if you cannot provide proof that you have had a negative COVID-19 test.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United Kingdom government has exempted Nigeria from a list of 30 countries banned from entering the country over COVID-19.
