{"id":39978,"date":"2021-02-08T15:26:22","date_gmt":"2021-02-08T15:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=39978"},"modified":"2021-02-08T15:26:35","modified_gmt":"2021-02-08T15:26:35","slug":"no-one-can-fault-the-incredible-job-i-did-as-coas-buratai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=39978","title":{"rendered":"No one can fault the incredible job I did as COAS \u2014Buratai"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Chief-of-Army-Staff-Tukur-Buratai.jpg\" alt=\"OPI: Army makes clarifications, says any form of Identification is okay\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lt Gen Tukur Buratai (Rtd), the immediate past Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has boasted of the incredible job he did while he was at head of the Nigerian Army in the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buratai who retired from the Nigerian Army on January 26, before being nominated as a non-career Ambassador by President Muhammadu Buhari on February 4, alongside other Service Chiefs who also resigned, was speaking with journalists after a special gala night organised in his honour by members of the 29th Regular Course Association of the Nigerian Defense Academy in Abuja at the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Giving himself a pass mark,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/nigerian-troops-to-shame-disgrace-boko-haram-iswap-in-2021-buratai\/\">Buratai<\/a>&nbsp;said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an honourable retirement and also an honourable appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs the COAS, I did very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am happy that in July last year, my officers at the Army headquarters compiled a compendium of my achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn fact, I can\u2019t even remember all the projects that we have executed. Is it in terms of infrastructure? Is it in terms of capacity building? Is it in terms of training?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince I was appointed, there was never a dull moment in terms of training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRemember the various exercises. These are training exercises from \u2018Python Dance\u2019, \u2018Crocodile Smile\u2019, and even the latest one \u2018Exercise Sahel Sanity\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIs it in the area of medical? In terms of education of our children and wards, the Nigerian Army University are all great achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think you can write volumes and volumes of books in terms of the achievements depending on the perspectives you want to take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt feels great to be celebrated by my colleagues at this point in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt means a lot to me in terms of respect, in terms of the show of love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something of pride that you have been recognised for the service you have rendered to your nation and people.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lt Gen Tukur Buratai (Rtd), the immediate past Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has boasted of the incredible job he did while he was at head of the Nigerian Army in the past five years.
