Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said with the appointment of the new service chiefs, the federal government has developed \u201cnew approach\u201d, \u201cfresh set of eyes, intellect, skills and a fresh look at strategies\u201d to fight insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osinbajo said this in Ogun State, on Tuesday, after he participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC)<\/a> revalidation and registration exercise in Ward One, Ikenne, area of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, \u201cWe are in government at one of the most challenging times in history. The pandemic has made matters worse, and we have also had security challenges that have stretched our law enforcement capacities all over the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat we must ensure is prosecution of all those who have been arrested for kidnapping, banditry and all other forms of criminalities. There must be evidence that justice is being done. This is achievable by stronger collaboration between the police, state Ministries of Justice and the Federal Ministry of Justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vice-President<\/a> said that with the \u2018new approach\u2019 which places more emphasis on technology, the insecurity in the country would be surmounted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith the new service chiefs, we have a fresh set of eyes, intellect, skills and a fresh look at strategies against the insurgency in the North East, as well as banditry and kidnapping elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn this new approach, much greater emphasis is being placed on technology for surveillance, intelligence gathering and attack.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
