{"id":42105,"date":"2021-04-08T14:00:02","date_gmt":"2021-04-08T14:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=42105"},"modified":"2021-04-08T14:00:10","modified_gmt":"2021-04-08T14:00:10","slug":"missing-police-officer-found-after-attack-by-gunmen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=42105","title":{"rendered":"Missing police officer found after attack by gunmen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Police.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Police Command in Imo State on Thursday, April 8, announced the return of a police officer who went missing after the attack on Mbieri police station in Mbaitoli council area of Imo State on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/nigerian-govt-revives-complaints-committee-for-cases-against-police-officers\/\">officer<\/a>, an inspector, was reported to have been abducted following the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ripples Nigeria had reported that two other operatives sustained injuries during the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his statement issued on Thursday, the spokesman of Imo Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, disclosed that the command was made to believe that the inspector had been missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He disclosed however the officer jumped over the fence and escaped through the back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, after the attack on the police station, a head count was carried out amongst the officers in the police division but the inspector could not be found<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHis phone lines were switched off and that gave us a reason to believe that he was missing.
