{"id":42263,"date":"2021-04-13T14:11:11","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T14:11:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=42263"},"modified":"2021-04-13T14:11:22","modified_gmt":"2021-04-13T14:11:22","slug":"health-agency-icpc-to-track-deployment-of-covid-19-vaccines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=42263","title":{"rendered":"Health agency, ICPC to track deployment of covid-19 vaccines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/COVID-19-vaccines.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has announced its collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a bid to enforce transparency in the deployment and administration of COVID -19 vaccines in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was contained in a statement issued on Monday, April 12, in Abuha by the Executive Director of NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, titled, \u2018NPHCDA partners with ICPC for COVID -19 vaccine security and accountability\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Shuaib, the ICPC would track and monitor the deployment and use of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/nigerian-govt-dispels-reports-of-fake-covid-19-vaccines\/\">COVID-19 vaccines<\/a>&nbsp;across the country, with a focus on theft and embezzlement; service provision; vaccine availability; and advisory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shuaib said, \u201cThe collaboration will ensure all appropriate anti-corruption, accountability, and transparency measures are established and sustained throughout the four phases of the COVID -19 vaccination campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese measures are imperative, as any form of corruption in the COVID-19 vaccination effort of the Federal Government will inevitably undermine the response to the pandemic, deprive citizens of their right to vaccination, and ultimately derail the goal of achieving herd immunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe ICPC will track and monitor the deployment and use of COVID -19 vaccines across the country, with a focus on four critical areas \u2013 theft and embezzlement; service provision; vaccine availability; and advisory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe NPHCDA, therefore, assures the public that those with intentions of perpetrating any unlawful acts in this regard, such as extortion, diversion of vaccines and\/or funds meant for the vaccination, will be apprehended and would face the full wrath of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe general public is therefore encouraged to report any act of corruption in the vaccination process to NPHCDA or ICPC.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has announced its collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a bid to enforce transparency in the deployment and administration of COVID -19 vaccines in Nigeria.
