{"id":44592,"date":"2021-06-11T08:50:50","date_gmt":"2021-06-11T08:50:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=44592"},"modified":"2021-06-11T08:50:59","modified_gmt":"2021-06-11T08:50:59","slug":"ecowas-adopts-resolution-on-single-currency-regime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=44592","title":{"rendered":"ECOWAS adopts resolution on single currency regime"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/ECOWAS.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament on Thursday adopted a draft resolution on the macro-economic convergence and stability pact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move is aimed at achieving a single currency for the West Africa sub-region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resolution was adopted during the ECOWAS Parliament\u2019s First Ordinary Session in Abuja following deliberations on the reports of the Joint Committee on Macro-Economic Policy and Economic Research and Committee on Administration, Finance and Budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The resolution which will be transmitted to the ECOWAS Commission in the coming days will ensure macroeconomic policy coordination with a view at ensuring a viable economic and monetary system for the sub-region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chairman of the Joint Committee, Hon.
