{"id":45386,"date":"2021-07-05T08:29:49","date_gmt":"2021-07-05T08:29:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=45386"},"modified":"2021-07-05T08:29:49","modified_gmt":"2021-07-05T08:29:49","slug":"children-playing-on-football-field-detonated-ieds-in-kaduna-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watchdogplusmedia.com\/?p=45386","title":{"rendered":"Children playing on football field detonated IEDs in Kaduna \u2013 Police"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.wp.com\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Police-1.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The Kaduna State police command has said children playing on a football field unknowingly detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) that rocked a community in the state on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least one child was killed and two others seriously wounded in a blast that occurred in Badarawa area of Kaduna metropolis on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The command\u2019s spokesman, Mohammed Jalige, who briefed journalists on the incident on Sunday, said the IEDs were concealed in three bottles of popular children\u2019s Juice (Viju Milk).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cThree children picked up the bottles but unknown to them, they contained explosive substance. The children started playing football with the bottles, as a result two of the bottles exploded and injured the three children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe victims were however rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for treatment, where one of them died due to injuries he sustained from the explosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOne of the victims was treated and discharged, while the third child is still receiving treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe command\u2019s Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD) is carrying out a holistic forensic analysis of the device with a view to apprehending those responsible for this heinous act.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kaduna State police command has said children playing on a football field unknowingly detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) that rocked a community in the state on Saturday.
