Former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri<\/a>, has reacted to the alleged attempted attack on President Muhammadu Buhari in Kebbi State on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Omokri, who prayed God to grant Buhari long life, said that though \u201che is incompetent and clueless,\u201d that \u201chis life is still valuable to God\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated this in a tweet on his verified Twitter account-@renoomokri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He wrote, \u201cI am told that this is not an attack but an over exuberant follower. Whatever the truth, we pray for General @MBuhari\u2019s life and urge him to take extra security measures. May God grant him long life. He is incompetent and clueless. But his life is still valuable to God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A video currently circulating on social media platforms showed a young man approached Buhari in a move suggesting he wanted to attack him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He had almost reached Buhari before he was stopped by security operatives. There have been claims that the man actually attempted to attack Buhari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the Presidency has debunked those claims, saying that the young man had no intention to attack Buhari<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a statement by Buhari\u2019s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the young man was just \u201cso very excited to see his President so close\u201d that he made an attempt to get to him to greet him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
