IgbereTV\nreports that the yesterday, the Managing Director of Tiamin Rice Mill Limited,\nAminu Ahmed said that an additional sum of $13,370,500 has been invested by\nTiamin Rice Mill Limited to raise its production capacity from the current 320\ntonnes to 1,520 tonnes per day.

\nMr. Ahmed\nmade this known when he led the management team of the company on a courtesy\ncall on the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Abhay Thakur, in his office in\nAbuja.
\n
\nThe MD\nsaid the policy of the present administration, especially the ban on smuggling\nand the interventions given to them by the Central Bank of Nigeria, have helped\nimmensely in boosting local production of rice.
\n
\nMr. Ahmed\nthat the company which was established in 2016 in Kano started production of\nrice in 2018 with 320 tonnes per day would expand its existing production line\nfrom 320 tonnes to 920 tonnes next year, while a new production line would\nstart production of 600 tonnes per day in Bauchi by May 2020.
\n
\nHe said,\n\u201cWe are now investing $13,370,500 to boost our production capacity to 1,520\ntonnes per day. Already we have placed orders for all the machinery needed, and\nall arrangements are on top gear to meet the deadline we have set. By next\nyear, we plan to become the biggest rice producers not only in Kano but in the\nwhole country. Our watchword is quality and affordability. We produce one of\nthe finest brands in Nigeria that can compete with foreign rice brands in terms\nof quality.

\nMr. Ahmed\nsaid that the durability of the Indian machines was secret behind the quality\nof Tiamin Rice. He then thanked the Indian High Commission for its support and\nsought further cooperation in the areas of easing trade relations between his\ncompany and Indian partners.

\nThe high\ncommissioner thanked Tiamin Rice for the courtesy call, and also for\npatronizing Indian machines. Mr. Thakur expressed hope that the policy of\nboosting local production would be sustained beyond the present administration\nto enable local industries in the country to grow.

\nWhile\nspeaking to journalists after the visit, the Managing Director of Tiamin Rice\nexpressed his appreciation to the federal government for their support in local\nrice production and to the state governments for the enabling environments\ngiven to the company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
