The\nHouse of Representatives has mandated its committee on ethics and privileges to\ninvestigate a matter of privilege brought before it by a People\u2019s Democratic\nParty (PDP) lawmaker from Delta State, Ben Igbakpa.
\n
\nMr.\nOgbakpa raised a concern on Wednesday that Kingsley Chinda and three other\nlawmakers were parading themselves as PDP caucus leaders.
\n
\nThe three\nothers are Chukwuka Onyema, Umar Barde and Muraina Ajibola.
\n
\nMr. Chinda\nand his group have recently released at least three statements on behalf of the\nPDP caucus of the house.
\n
\nThe deputy\nspeaker, Idris Wade, who presided over the plenary, mandated the committee to\ninvestigate the matter and report back to the house.
\n
\nThe\nSpeaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, few months back named Ndudi Elumelu as the Minority\nLeader of the House of Representatives.
\n
\nThe\nannouncement caused confusion in the parliament as the PDP, which is the\nlargest minority party in the House, had nominated Kingsley Chinda for the\nposition.
\n
\nOther nominees\nby the PDP for other minority positions were also rejected by Mr Gbajabiamila.
\n
\nThe PDP\nhad nominated Chukwuka Onyema as Deputy Minority Leader, Yakubu Barde as\nMinority Whip and Muraina Ajibola as Deputy Minority Whip.
\n
\nMr\nGbajabiamila, instead, named Toby Okechukwu as Minority Leader, Gideon Gwani as\nMinority Whip and Adesegun Adekoya as Deputy Minority Whip.

\nBoth\nMessrs Elumelu and Chinda are PDP members.

\nThe PDP\nBoard of Trustees had mandated a committee to look into the minority leadership\ncrisis that has rocked the PDP caucus.
