In a move to ease the burden placed on residents of Lagos, FCT and Ogun states, the federal government has announced that all markets in these states will be allowed to open between 10am and 2pm daily. This was disclosed by the national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani, Channels TV reports. \u201cFor markets, only shops and stalls selling food and groceries shall be allowed to open to customers between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm,\u201d he said. Going further, he said supermarkets and food stores are allowed to operate between 10am and 4pm. He also tasked all owners and managers to embark on a thorough screening of staff and customers. \u201cOn arrival, all staff must be screened for a high temperature and all those found to have a high body temperature above 38, will be denied entry and advised to seek immediate medical attention. \u201cAll deliveries for supplies and products for these supermarkets must be made between the hours of 5:00 am and 9:00 am,\u201d Sani added. Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Ondo state government has ordered the closure of its boundaries to the neighbouring states of Ekiti, Osun, Kogi, Edo and Ogun from Thursday, April 2, as a precautionary measure against the Covid-19. Donald Ojogo, the commissioner for information and orientation, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Akure. Ojogo explained that the trend in respect of COVID-19 and the possibility of its undeterminable spread was observed, saying this informed the directive. \u201cOndo State has ordered the closure of its borders with the neig\u00adhbouring states of Ekiti, Osun, Ko\u00adgi, Edo and Elefon, our coastal border with Ogun, which in the recent past, has witnessed heavy human traffic from Lagos and Ogun,\u201d he said. According to him, the order prohibits inter-state travels into the state and takes effect from 6pm on Thursday, April 2.
