The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi Araba, Lagos, has admitted four COVID-19<\/a> disease patients few hours after its 60-bed isolation and treatment centre was commissioned by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was disclosed by the Chairman, LUTH Medical Advisory Committee, Prof. Wasiu Adeyemo, while speaking with journalists on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, they were three adults and one child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are part of those already confirmed, but staying at home. Now they are under admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are stable and doing very well,\u201d Adeyemo said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LUTH\u2019s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chris Bode, on his part, told newsmen shortly after the inauguration that \u201cIt is better for us to rise up to the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith the help and assistance of the minister and Lagos government, we have been able to put together a block of four wards containing 60 beds altogether with enough personal protective equipment and all what we need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bode further disclosed that admission would still be done through the pyramid structure and that the hospital would be operating under the command of Lagos State government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have a squad of 120 members of staffs, all warriors to combat this condition in LUTH<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
