An official of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has tested positive for coronavirus<\/a> in Bauchi State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aliyu Maigoro, confirmed this in a statement issued by the Information Officer, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Ibrahim Sani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The commissioner said: \u201cFollowing the confirmation of a staff of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Bauchi Office, who tested positive for COVID-19, the UNICEF\/WHO offices have been decontaminated and are now officially closed down for two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe exercise was conducted on April 19 in the presence of the Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, as part of prevention measures and to de-escalate the spread of the virus in the state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commissioner said available information revealed that the newly confirmed case had earlier travelled to Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said all his contacts in Bauchi and Kano have been identified and isolated, and they are under strict follow-ups and surveillance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
