Obaseki made the statement on Monday, June 1, when he visited the president to present his form seeking re-election on the platform of the APC. Governor Obaseki has said he is confident that he will win the APC primary and the governorship election because his administration has a connection with the people. He said President Buhari has assured him of his support. The governor also blamed the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, for the problems in Edo state. He said while people in Edo state were in support of his second term bid, forces in Abuja were opposed to his re-election.
