The Policemen said it is normal that when a Policeman who lives in the barracks dies, his place is allocated to another person as death does not translate to inheritance.
The new allottee had to show himself to the widow, as is the procedure, so that she knows who is to handed over the keys before she leaves: This is to also prevent a situation where many others would start approaching her, disturbing her to sublet the house to them. These others could be from other Police Formations like the State Command, FHQ, PMF 2, PMF 22, Airport Command, Airwing Command and many others. This procedure helps the Police College to retain ownership of her barracks and for proper documentation. According to all those interviewed, the Police has done the normal thing based on the Police Acts and Regulations.
