BREAKING NEWS: Igboho’s wife released.
The Benin court of appeal sitting on Thursday the 22nd of July 2021 has ordered the release of the wife of Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo (Ighoho).
According to reports, Ropo was released because there was no evidence of wrong doing against her. Contrary to rumors emanating from various quarters, his lawyer, Ibrahim David Salami told reporters that his clients was only found with a Nigerian and German passport and not a Beninese passport.
His appeal against extradition was adjourned until Monday 26th of July 2021 when his international arrest warrant will be examined for authenticity. If found to be in order, he will be extradited but if not, (due to some legal or administrative issues with the warrant), he will be refereed to the prosecutor.
Ighoho’s arrest came a few weeks after the DSS declared him wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms; an allegation he has since denied. He prides himself as an activist who fights for the rights and freedom of the Yoruba nation against killer Fulani herdsmen that have ravaged some of the south west and south south Nigeria.
