36 new Commissioners of Police decorated by the IGP

Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, WATCHDOG learnt was present at the decoration of his course mates by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.

The decoration event which was held on Thursday, July 29, 2021, according to a statement by Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer, saw some of the Force finest Police officer, numbering about 36, promoted to the rank of Commissioners of Police.

It was learnt that the former EFCC boss name was not listed by the Police Service Commission (PSC), when it published the names of the promoted officers.

Meanwhile, CP Frank Mba said that the IGP, during the decoration of the Police Commissioners, noted that the promotion of the 36 personnel was based on merit and principles of seniority as enshrined in the force order.

The IGP congratulated the newly promoted officers, and charged them to deploy their wealth of experience to support his leadership mission of positively changing the policing and internal security narratives in the country.

The statement further stated that the IGP has ordered the posting and redeployment of 24 Assistant Inspector General of Police to
various Zonal Commands and Formations.
