GOV. SANWO-OLU, YOU ARE THE BEST!
I want to commend His excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, in person of Babajide Sanwo-Olu towards the efforts he is making towards dousing tension surrounding the spread of Covid-19 since it started. The treatment being rendered to those already affected at the isolation centers made available all over Lagos State can be said to be a first class one as patients keep getting recovered and discharged as early as possible. It is the same treatment, if not a better one, one would have received for same illness outside the shores of the country, at least for some of us that have had the oipportunity to travel out and seek medical help, we can attest to that fact. I as a person have been really impressed at the care and love showed to the victims on their pathway to recovery from this deadly coronavirus. It is evident the infected are being taken care of as they ought to. How else would we have explained the fact that inspite of the fact that the occurrence of this disease is more in Lagos than any other state in Nigeria, yet the state is not overwhelmed. The initiatives to fish out the infected from their houses is according to best practices in the world of medicine as this is a further attempt at nipping in the bud the escalation or further spread of this disease. Apart from those already affected, the government of Sanwo-Olu´s package for the less privileged in the period of this lockdown has also been commendable. Meeting the needs of members of the public as well as the plan to make food available through the establishments of at least 100 kitchens all over Lagos, for the youths have also been touching. These palliatives will obviously go a long way in stemming in the tide the overall socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on the citizenry. All these efforts also have far-reaching effects on the security of lives and property within the state and beyond. God will continue to give him wisdom from above. I want to plead to the members of the society, individual, organization, industry, club, churches, mosque etc., to be our neighbors’ keepers at a time like this. This is a critical time and government cannot be everywhere. In other words, we should bridge the gaps wherever we can so that we will all come out of this pandemic stronger than we were before. Though I know a lot of NGOs, clubs and individuals have been playing vital roles as regards this, I only urge us to continue and never be weary in doing good. Our good God will continue to bless us all. I will as well appreciate the Inspector General of Police for his wisdom and the strategies he has put in place to control the crime rates in Lagos in particular and Nigeria as a whole. I appreciate the health workers comprising of Doctors Nurses, Laboratory technologists and indeed all the health workers who are at the front line of curtailing this menace. Indeed the efforts of all essential workers at this critical time is worth mentioning. God will continue to be with them and all their loved ones too. God will continue to give them wisdom from above. God bless Lagos State. God bless Nigeria and may God heal the world of this Coronavirus.
